Unexpected Blossoms

The boys served Ash Wednesday Mass last night. After Mass, the boys were getting ready to leave the sacristy, when the sacristan handed them a bouquet of flowers that could no longer be used on the altar during Lent. She told them to give them to their mother. They bounded out of the sacristy with the flowers wearing big smiles and I giggled excitedly when they told me they were for me. Don and I have an agreement that he doesn't buy flowers for me...because they are so expensive. I have to say that I smile each time I pass this bouquet on my dining room table...even though it's surrounded by books, papers, crayons, pencils, and crumbs. What a pretty way to start Lent!
