We started school last week and also began taking care of my niece. Sufficed to say, it's been busy around here! The busy bags have been a godsend, but I'm rationing them out a little at a time and we are in need of a few more activities. Today we cut up computer paper into thin strips, armed the littles with safety scissors and they set to work. Oh, and you'll notice I didn't take an "after" photo of the floor and surrounding area. Sometimes, it's the simplest of things that keep them occupied....for twenty minutes!!
Melanie really likes cutting as well. When I'm clipping my coupons on Sundays she always asks if there are any for her to cut out, so I let her go to town on the ones we don't need. She also really likes it when I draw different shapes on the paper for her to cut out. I haven't been brave enough to let Claire cut anything out yet, I'm afraid she wouldn't confine her new skill just to the paper :/
We haven't done scissors here yet. It's not that I don't trust Gemma, I know she'd do fine, I guess I just had kind of forgotten about them. Thanks for the reminder! I'm going to head out and pick a pair up for her soon and get started cutting. I hear Kumon has some really neat cutting books!!
Cutting is a favorite around our house along with tearing the paper off the crayons!
