Unplugged: Chrismas Caroling

I know it's a little late in the season to post this, but we had so much fun caroling the week of Christmas!
There was a group of 19 of us that went including 1 seminarian. We went from house to house in our neighborhood and the reaction of our neighbors was heart warming and touching, a few of the lady recipients, actually cried! We were offered treats and 1 man took pictures. One of our favorite gifts was hugs! Most every single person said they had never been caroled before. Okay, well I kind of scared a couple of kids when I asked if they had a request, and they ran and hid behind their Daddy's legs..other than that, is was all positive. We agreed to make this a Christmas tradition.

  1. What a great thing to do! We've never had carolers at our door but when I was growing up in Canada we were part of a Caroling group at our Church, I did it twice and loved every bit of it! And you probably bought so much joy and peace to those in your neighbourhood, well done :)

  2. Eloise, that is so cool that you have been part of something so beautiful...that doesn't surprise me at all, you are a treasure for sure!! It was my first time caroling, and it was such an amazing experience. When I saw those 2 lovely ladies tear up, I got all choked up myself...which made it so very hard to sing, but also my heart swelled with gladnes at being able to a very small part of something we need more of in this world, Happiness, cheer, joy, respect and acknowledgement of our neighbors. It made me realize how very easy it is to bring a little love into our world....it's something I need a lot of work with, especially at home...that's always the hardest for me!! I hope you, Phil, and little Matilda had and continue to have a wonderful Christmas! And a very Happy New Year to you, my dear friend!!
